The Guy Behind the Lens
My background is Classical Music Studies and Sound Engineering which took me to London for 10 years working in the music industry. After my own wedding in 2012 I found a love of filming also, and collaborated my artistic skills to start filming weddings throughout Ireland and the UK. I have a passion for creating emotion through music and film and I incorporate those skills into producing wedding films. Now that myself and my wife (Sarah, a dancer and dance teacher from the UK) are based full time in the west of Ireland my filming portfolio has expanded into the world of dance theatre. I am involved with many dance companies throughout Ireland creating promotional videos and performance archives.
When I am not filming events I am at home with my wife Sarah, our daughter Meghan, young Son Oliver and our crazy cocker spaniel Nero. We all love being outdoors and spend a lot of our time walking along the greenway and playing at the beach. I am a keen runner and have participated in several half marathons and marathons. My new passion is Squash, I'm not too good at it but it's lots of fun all the same. My next goal is to run up and down the Reek!
What We Offer
Callaghan Productions is a video production company based in Westport, Co. Mayo which specialises in Wedding Films, Dance and Theatre Productions. Our portfolio is also expanding to cater for Business Conferences & Events, Corporate and SME company videos. I set up Callaghan Productions in 2014 to cater for the increasing demand to film Weddings and produce films. I was fortunate to get an opportunity to film several dance shows back in 2014. In the years that followed Callaghan Productions has established itself with many dance schools and theatre groups nationwide. Other projects include an advert for a craft beer company, a film on Mindfulness and several short promotional trailers for SME businesses. We are keen to expand our portfolio in the areas of business conferences and events, and corporate and SME company videos.
The idea for the MyDayMyWay service came about from our own wedding. We couldn’t afford a videographer at the time of our wedding so our friends bought us a camcorder, they filmed our wedding day and then I edited the footage and produced our wedding film. It was such a success and equally so much fun that other friends wanted the same service for their weddings, and the rest as they say is history! The idea is very unique and simple. WE deliver the Camcorder and Equipment. YOU Film the Day and WE will add the magic in the editing to produce a professional Wedding highlights Film. You receive a step by step Guide on how to use the Camcorder and equipment, how and what to Film on the day, with hints and techniques to try and get those perfect moments on Film.
The cameras will include enough memory and battery life to record over 7 hours of HD footage. Arrangements will be made in advance to return the MyDayMyWay camera kit a couple of days after your wedding. We will Edit and Produce a unique and personalised Wedding Video. You will receive your film within 4 weeks of your wedding film as well as all of the unedited footage filmed on the day.
